You don’t… you just get pregnant and deal with it. When it comes time for the baby to come out you’ll be ready and over your fear. If you’re not, then you’d better hurry it up because that baby won’t stay there forever.

its normal for people to fear having kids of there own because they wonder what kind of mother theyre gonna be and how they are gonna take care of them….the fear will subside when youre more ready to have kids….

i was TERRIFIED of being a mom. when I was about 38 weeks pregnant, i was like, “I can’t do this, I can’t do this”. but you know what? my daughter is almost 3 years old, and i CAN do this. she’s the best part of me. sure it’s tough…especially when she’s throwing a tantrum or being a brat, but she’s a great kid for the most part, and i make sure i hug her & cuddle & kiss her every day & ALWAYS tell her i love her. that makes it easier for me. i’m sooo madly in love with my daughter…that the fear kind of goes away.
when she says, “i love you mom” and when i pick her up from daycare, and she sees me & comes RUNNING down the hall calling, “MOMMY!”…THAT is how i know it’s all worth it!

Why are you afraid? And if you do become pregnant it can sometimes cause those feelings to go away…

It’s one of these things that you have to face heads on. You just do it. Initially you may be fearful, but with each day you will find yourself dealing with it a little bit better. Your family and friends can be a great source of support.

I was so scared to have my own up until I actually had him. In the hospital, I had a c-section and only saw him once before I was in the recovery room and he was a few hours old before I got to hold him .. and as soon as I did, mother-mode kicked in and all my fears of being a mother went away. HOWEVER – the fears of being a GOOD mother, being scared for your child all the time, etc., don’t ever go away. Good luck, relax, and have one if you want to! :)
